  5. I occasionally find myself wondering, "Did I work on this project
  6. today?" The simple thing would be to look at the modification date
  7. of the folder containing the project.  Only that doesn't get
  8. updated when a file is modified, only if it is added or deleted.

  10. So this quick hack will update a folder's modification date to
  11. reflect the most recently modified file within it (or in any nested
  12. folders in it).  Just drag 'n' drop the folder (or folders) you
  13. want onto TouchFolder, and presto!  If the folder already has a
  14. later mod date than any of its files, it will be left alone.  Also,
  15. the  nested folders are NOT modified, though their contents are
  16. scanned.

  18. You might want to keep an alias in a convenient place on your 
  19. desktop, like I do with ctc, Save-a-BNDL, etc.

  21. Usually the change shows up in the finder immediately, though
  22. sometimes it doesn't.  I have no idea why.  Closing and reopening
  23. the window containing the folder you just touched (almost) always
  24. gets the finder's attention.

  26. This is free (how could anyone charge money for something this
  27. simple?). I would distribute source code, but most of it (really!)
  28. is copied directly from THINK Reference 2.0  (from the "Getting
  29. files selected from the finder" and "PBGetCatInfo" pages, if you
  30. must know), and my reading of the license agreement is that I can
  31. distribute only object code.
